If you’re not sure which date you want to change to we can make your booking open dated. There are no fees to do this. Additional fees may apply depending on your destination of travel.
Can I change to a different tour?
Yes. If you let us know at least 30 days before your trip start date, we can move you on to another tour (subject to availability) free of charge. If you are changing to a tour at a higher price you will need to pay the difference. If you’re not sure which tour you want to change to we can make your booking open-dated. There are no fees to do this. If you want to change your tour (or move your booking to open dated) within 30 days of the start date there will be a minimum fee of £200 / $400 to cover the costs incurred by us for the change. Additional fees may apply depending on your destination of travel.
When do I have to make payment for my tour?
You need to have paid in full at least 30 days before your tour start date. If you’re booking within 30 days of the start date you’ll need to pay in full when you make the booking. If you’re booking more than 30 days before your tour you can secure your place by paying a deposit of £200 / $400.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. Once you’ve paid your deposit you can simply log into the Manage My Booking area of our website and make payments in instalments of £200 / $400. You can make payments whenever you like, and just need to pay the total amount at least 30 days before your start date.
How can I make multiple bookings?
Booking multiple tours is easy! Just add them to the shopping cart then proceed to payment. However if you would like to book a tour (or tours) for more than one person you will need to make separate bookings. Once you have done this just send us a message and we can link your bookings and make sure you are in the same room together, if you like.
Can I book pre-tour accommodation with you?
If you are arriving before the start date you can book extra nights at the tour accommodation. To do this, simply log into the Manage My Booking area of our website, add the extra nights and pay for them.
Can I book post-tour accommodation with you?
Your group leader will book post-tour accommodation for you when you are on tour. Just need to let them know when you arrive.
How do I organise my airport transfer?
All of our tours (except for Japan) include an airport transfer for when you arrive. Once you have booked your flights simply log into the Manage My Booking Area of our website and let us know your flight arrival details. If you are arriving early and staying at the tour accommodation we will still arrange your airport transfer. Please let us know if you do not require an airport transfer.
A return transfer (after the tour) is not included, however your group leader can help arrange this for you, along with any other onward travel you need.
Are flights included in the price?
Flights to and from the destination are not included in the price of the tour and will need to be booked separately. However if your tour has an internal flight as part of the itinerary, then this is included!
You can get a quote on a flight to your destination here.
When should I book my flight to arrive?
It’s best to arrive on the actual start date. This is when most people arrive. There are no activities on the first day but the group gets together in the evening for a welcome dinner at around 7pm. Sometimes people like to arrive a day or two before the trip starts so they can do their own exploring or just have a bit of time to chill before all the fun begins.
Is travel insurance compulsory?
Travel insurance is compulsory for all our trips. You’ll need to show proof of your policy to your group leader upon arrival (on your phone or printed). You can get a quote and purchase your travel insurance here.
Do I need a visa and can you arrange it for me?
Visa requirements vary depending on the country you are travelling to and your nationality. It’s your responsibility to check the visa and entry requirements for the country/s you will be travelling to. There is some information about visas in our INTRO Travel App, which you can download here for iPhone or Google
IMPORTANT: We cannot apply for your visa for you and strongly recommend that you check on the relevant embassy or consulate website for the country/s you’ll be travelling to well in advance of your departure, as requirements can change and some countries require you to apply for a visa before you travel.
What should I pack for my tour?
Whether you have a backpack or a suitcase the main thing to keep in mind is not to bring too much stuff! We strongly recommend that you bring less than 20 kgs of stuff with you.
If you haven’t got a backpack yet, try and get one that zips open along the side. There will be places on the tour where you can do laundry, so you don’t need to bring 16 pairs of shorts with you.
Do you cater for people with special medical requirements?
We want everyone to be able to travel with us, but we want to ensure that you are going to be safe and healthy on the trip.
So if you have any special medical requirements just let us know, and we will provide any feedback if necessary. For certain medical issues (both physical and mental) we may ask that you get a letter from your Doctor that states you are fit to participate in the tour. We will let you know if this is required.
Do you cater for people with special dietary requirements?
We will do our best to cater to any special dietary requirements. Most restaurants we go to cater for special dietary requirements, allergies or intolerances. However we cannot guarantee every restaurant we go to will be able to do this, but there will usually be other food options available that can cater to your specific needs. Your group leader will be able to advise you on this.
And we have also made sure that there are water coolers in most places we go, so you can get free water refills and avoid buying plastic bottles of water.
Some important areas of our responsible travel policy include:
- Minimising our impact on the natural environment, including reducing plastic waste as much as possible.
- Understanding and respecting local cultures and ensuring our interaction and involvement in local activities is positive.
- Working directly with local communities to ensure the money you spend on a tour is benefiting those that need it most.
- Ensuring animals, children or other vulnerable groups are not harmed or negatively affected by any of our activities.
- Providing vegetarian and vegan options at all our stops.
Beyond the basic principles of responsible travel, our own socially conscious initiative Small Change is focused on making a positive difference to the destinations we operate in. One key part of Small Change is our commitment to #newtab# operating tours that are 100% Carbon Neutral.
